PreGame Pep Talk with Coach Jason

Go Lady we had the first soccer game of the season, or should I say two games! We had a doubleheader! Whew-what a day for that! It was HOT HOT HOT and our games we later in the day, but the girls did awesome! We have such a nice team. 5 out of 7 attend school with Meran and Cousin Rylee is on the team too! Jason and Eric (his older brother) have coached the girls' team for the last 3 years together so that they could be on the same team! It is so fun!
We won the first game! Meran had 2 assists and 1 goal and nearly got overheated because she just runs-runs-runs the whole time. She definitely didn't get that from her mom! Remembering back to my old softball days (ugh!)...I would just stand there in outfield and try to not to get hit by the ball. Not our Meran...she hustles after it! I am so proud of her (can't tell, can you!?).
Second game we tied. The girls were so pooped-out from the heat and the previous game. It is so fun to watch~and I've never even played soccer! I yelled/cheered alot-which reminds me of my mother at my brothers' water polo games~I use to get embarrassed, but now I understand and just can't seem to help myself!

We miss you Kaylee

Our one steady babysitter for the kids, besides family and a few occassional others, just left for Biola last week. We miss Kaylee in more ways than one...but are so happy for her that she gets to experience college! She will always be so special to our family!

Cousin Playdate

With Jameson in preschool now, I only have Sutton 2 days a week. It is so weird! I am enjoying this new schedule, but to go back to just having one child for 7 hours on Tuesday and Thursday...way too easy!
My sister-in-law Leslie and I decided that we would trade off keeping the babies (okay, they are 14 months old, but they are our babies!) a few times a month, giving each other some "recharge time" or shopping therapy (even if it is only window shopping)~whatever the need be!

Sutton and Reagan are just 2 1/2 weeks apart and they are finally really enjoying each other's company! It was a joy to spend the day with them and watch them communicate and make each other laugh! Oh, yeah, they love to give kisses to each other too!

There are not many things cuter than baby feet!

Silly Sutty

On Monday, I emptied this small basket of toys that we keep in the living room onto the rug. I was hoping to keep Sutton busy by either actually playing with the toys (a crazy idea, i know) or for him to place back into the basket. He had another idea, apparently better-climb into it and make car noises! Why oh why do we spend so much $ on toys, when they'd just rather play with boxes, baskets, tupperware or pull out all the dish towels from the kitchen drawer?

Meran at her new desk

Well, the first week of school has come and gone! On Monday, Meran began 2nd grade with Mrs. Hooyer. On Tuesday, Jameson began preschool with Miss Monica & Miss Vicki.
Meran is thrilled to be back at school with her friends, playing on the bars and absolutely loves her teacher! Today, she got in the car, bubblying over with excitement about being the "reading buddy" for a kindergartener, who happens to be the younger sister of one of her friends.
Jameson is enjoying all-day preschool, although he does not like having to take a "rest" time(since he is not a regular napper). A highlight of his is telling me what he wants to take for lunch in his Superman lunch box. He also has said that he wishes there was more playing time and less learning time. Poor little guy, reality has just begun! He is also quite amused that the boy's potty has no ring on it!
With both Meran and Jameson gone 2 days a week, I have learned much about Sutton. He is really taking to having all my attention, a quiet house for nap time and being able to play with anything (of Meran and Jameson's) he wants without anyone telling him "don't" ( I just make sure all the toys are back where they belong before school is out!)
Besides school... soccer began(go Lady Dragons), Jason began his practicum at the Kings View Counseling Center in Hanford and I went back to the gym. Busy~but good!

A Week in OC

Jason was gone to Costa Rica for 10 days so we headed south to Grandma and Grandpa Lozano's house to take over, I mean, visit. Boy, did we have a good time and cover some ground! A great way to bring the summer to a close...
1.Had a family bbq and got to see lots of extended family
2.The kids swam every day
3.We went to L.A. to the American Girl Store (Meran had been saving her $ to buy "Susie" a new outfit)
4.We went to the beach 3 days in a row because it was so much fun!
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Lozano for a wonderful week of fun and memories~we had a great time!

Memories...courtesy of Becca Chavez

Earlier this summer our friend, Becca, did a photo shoot of each of the kids for their birthday pictures. She is a budding photographer~full of creativity, talent and kindness! Our kids love her!Thank you Becca for your friendship and for capturing our children at these milestones! You are a blessing to us! These are some of my personal favorites, though I loved them all!!!!

Little Baby, Big Baby

This weekend we got to see our baby Addilyn Joy (Dustin & Lauren's 4 months old baby girl). see her is to love her. She is a real live baby doll, so sweet! She has grown so much since we have seen her a few months ago...although, Sutton is still bigger! Perhaps it has something to do with the 9 1/2 months between them!:)
We were cracking up when we laid them next to each other. If they could speak, this is what this picture would say.

Addilyn (in a tiny baby voice): "Hi, I am a little baby".
Sutton (in a big booming voice): "Hi, I am a big baby".

Hume Lake

School days are coming we took off to Hume Lake for 5 days, one last time until our annual Family gathering on Labor Day weekend at the cabin!
What a relaxing time we had! We walked around the lake, went on the boat, went fishing, jumped off the rock, swam at the pool, ate shakes(yum!) and the kids had many adventures around the cabin the included sticks, rocks and dirt.
We are so thankful that Jason's parents bought the cabin a few years ago because it is a great place to make lots of memories that I know the kids will have for their lifetime!

Bass Lake

July is a busy traveling month for us! We are fortunate to be able to be involved with Jason's ministry most of the time! The college-career group (the age group that he pastors) had their summer waterski trip at Bass Lake. Ministry can be tough sometimes;)!

The kids and I love to tag along on this 4 day retreat! It is alot of water time! Sutton and I hang by the pool most of the day and the kids get to experience the lake and boats! Plus, Grandma and Grandpa Neese head up the meals for the group, so the kids enjoyed an afternoon to lunch and the movies with them. Such a neat time to be with those involved in this ministry~I am really enjoying getting to know these young adults and I know Jason has a great time with them!

Thank you Lord for where you have us right now!

Avila Beach

Jason officiated a wedding at the coast in July so we made it into a weekend get-away. A cute little seaside town tucked away, near Pismo Beach, Avila Beach is a great spot to visit. My parents met us there and watched the kids while Jason and I attended the wedding festivities. The kids had a ball with Grandma and Grandpa Lozano...I think they spent most of the time at the park on the beach that has a cool pirate ship for kids to play on! It was a very relaxing weekend and a new family favorite!
