Then came December 2011...our move to this house. Literally, we are a few blocks from a fantastic park, overlooking the back bay. Suddenly, the park doesn't seem so bad. In fact, it has become part of our daily routinue. A compulsion really. The park now beckons me...or atleast the "walking" part beacons me, and the park beacons Sutton as we walk by it. So, of course we stop and play for 30 minutes, sometimes much more. The cool breeze blowing, the loud jet noise from the airplanes departing from the airport just across the bay. Ahhh...The park...who knew it could be so fabulous?
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. Psalms 89:1

The Good Old Park
I must admit, I never have really been one of those moms who enjoyed taking her kids to the park. Our backyard in our previous home could be considered a small park and honestly, it was just too much work. Call me a party-pooper, but its the truth.

Beach Bums
Happy to have a HUGE sandbox at his disposal |
Look closely and you will see the sand caked on Bellen's face~obviously she is over her fear of sand! |
Jason is suppose to have become "the Little Mermaid" after this transformation...the guy is a good sport! |
I hope I don't sound like I am bragging, but we have been enjoying the beach about once a week lately. And the summer hasn't even officially begun! We hit Coronado this weekend, schlepping along our sand toys, towels and picnic lunch. I am sure we look like tourists...but honestly, it kinda feels like a perpetual vacation we are on!

Hawaiian Day
At first, I wasn't sure about the uniform thing, but I actually love the kids wearing uniforms at Rock Academy. It makes things simple and I think it really does keep them focused on the important things while at school. So, on occassion, when they have free dress, it is a special treat. Friday, for Jameson's birthday;), it was Hawaiian Dress-up Day. There was also a Luau-themed carnival after school.

Karate Kids
Jason took the boys to a karate class that our church offers on Saturday. Needless to say, they were in little boy heaven & we will be purchasing them a Gi (pronounced gee).

A book I am reading
The natural pathic doctor that I am seeing suggested the book, "What your doctor may not tell you about breast cancer, How hormone balance could save your life" by John R. Lee, M.D.
If you know anyone with breast cancer, or are interested in learning about it, I would highly suggest this book. It is very informative and very eye opening. The same author also wrote a book about premenopause and menopause, regarding the importance of hormone balance.

Sandy Laundry
I love sandy laundry...it means we have just been to the beach, which thrills me! There is something so relaxing and therapeutic about the sand and the sound of the foamy, lapping waves. It was a total spur of the moment decision to bring our dinner to the beach yesterday. We didn't get to there til 5 o'clock, but that didn't stop the kids from taking full advantage of beach! Meran and Jameson LOVED playing in the waves and Sutton built a sandcastle. Bellen is still hesitant about the sand, but that made it easier on me since Jason met us there, later, after work. It was one of my favorite Wednesdays so far.
L.A. Galaxy Experience
Jason took the 3 older kids to the L.A. Galaxy game on Saturday. Jameson got to wear his jersey that Aunt Christina & Uncle Eric gave him a few Christmas' ago~he was thrilled about that.
They sat WAY up high in the "cheap seats"...but the hot dogs, nachos, popcorn & shared cinnamon roll made up for that;). They all got to buy a souvenir, which is a rarity! Meran chose a keychain for her backpack, Jameson picked a stuffed alligator(the mascot) and Sutton got a small L.A. Galaxy ball.
They are instant fans!

Visalia Visit
We took an extended weekend visit to Visalia. It was so great to be with our friends & Jason's family. We celebrated my niece, Taylor & Jameson's birthday on Saturday. Jason & his brother went shooting, and Jameson got to tag along. Meran went to the Rodeo with her cousins & Grandma and Grandpa Neese took all the kids to the movies. We packed alot in over the 4 days we were there(not to mention Jason officiated a wedding!), here are our memories...
