Fond & Cozy Memories...

I came across these pictures that were taken the weekend before Christmas, when we were at the cabin with the Neese family, celebrating our Christmas. The pictures speak for themselves...

Hume Lake

When we got to the cabin on Friday night it was cold...but, not much snow left on the ground from the last storm, which was before Christmas. On Saturday, our good friends, the Saltzmans, joined us (some know them better as the 5 k's=Kevin, Karin, Kayla, Kenna, Kaden). They brought the snow with them I guess because a few hours after they arrived it began to snow! The kids were thrilled. We had walked down the hill to camp, for coffee & ice cream, so we then had to walk "up hill in the snow" (but not both ways:) back to the cabin.
It was a very relaxing and fun weekend-lots of food, sitting by the fire and movie watching!
Both Meran and Jameson came home with "injuries"...Meran has a bruise and scrape underneath her chin from sledding "off a cliff" as she described to her friends at school (really it was a small boulder, but Jason said she got some air!).Jameson's was not so exciting-he banged his forehead on the doorknob of our room-leaving a small goose egg. We'll just pretend it is from sledding too!

The Things They Say...

Miss Monica asked Jameson "What Makes you Happy?".
Jameson replied,"When I get to see Jesus."

I got my haircut short today...after it being "long" for several years now.
I told my hairdresser that I was nervous how my 4 year old would respond.
Sure enough...
I walk into his classroom where they were sitting down watching a movie. He gets up and walks over to me, with his mouth moving slowly into a frown and tears filling his eyes.
I think, "oh, I am a little early and he doesn't want to be the first to leave".
Nope.
"I don't like your hair like that" he cries, wrapping his arms around me.
Ouch.
Atleast he wrapped his arms around me to soften the blow.
Next, we get Meran..she comes out hold a friend's hand, smiling.
Then she sees me...
"Why did you do that to your hair?" she half-whines.
When I saw Sutton later, he didn't seem to care at all. Little angel!

When I put Meran to bed, as I walked out of the room, Meran said,"I like your hair now...I am getting use to it."
Needless to say, my kids are reluctant to change!
And for the record, I kinda like my new haircut!
