Padres Game

Padres played the Dodgers on Wednesday night and the Rock church staff was given tickets. We ditched soccer, dance & karate to go as a family. Jason, of course, donned his Dodger gear, but I could NOT show up to Petco Park without supporting the home team. So, we compromised...half of us wore Dodger gear and the other half wore Padres!

Oma's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Jameson's 1st grade class had their first field trip for the year. They visited the pumpkin patch. Jason got to chaperone. They had fun picking out a pumpkin, going thru the maze, cotton sledding and even got to see a baby calf being born!

I read this the other day and....

it brought me back to something that happened in January. Between me and the Lord. I was doubting, mostly in tiredness, in a weak and "full of me" moment. I cried out in anger. The Lord continues to gently use that time for my own growth in Him. It is from the Jesus Lives devotional by Sarah Young (my current fav). I shortened it.
WEAKNESS
I am able to sympathize with your weaknesses, for I have been tempted in every way. Not only do I understand you perfectly with all your weakness, but I have infinite resources because I am both Man and God....If you ever doubt My Love for you, just look at all that I suffered so that I could spend eternity with you!
When you are going through painful trials, it is tempting to blame Me because you know I have unlimited Power to intervene.  However, I refrained from using that Power to save Myself from brutal torture and execution. Whenever I allow you to suffer, try to see it as My vote of self-confidence in you....Call upon Me when you are in the midst of trials, and I will be ever so near you-entering into your suffering.
Remember that I allow you to share in My sufferings in order that you may also share in My Glory.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of god and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Romans 8:17

Daddy, Daughter Date...2

Meran was introduced to Steven Curtis Chapman last year, by her 4th grade teacher, and fell in love with his music (especially the Cinderella song). We found out that he was going to be in San Diego at a local church, so Jason decided it would be a great chance to do another dad/daughter date night!

Surgery Update

SO La Jolla...to have a string quartet in the lobby of the hospital:)
Jason enjoyed it

1 more surgery down! As far as I can tell it went well. It took about 2 1/2 hours. Pain is totally manageable, only having to use advil and not the pain meds they sent home with me. That is a praise! The whole surgery was a "pleasant" experience over all. Very kind nurses, many that I had for my mastectomy. I am sore, similar to the feeling of an elephant having sat on my chest:), but can "unwrap" tomorrow (the 72 hr mark). I go back Wednesday for a check-up with my surgeon. Thank you for you prayers...I felt God's peace and comfort thru the whole day Friday!
Gettin' ready to put on the really cute gown for surgery:)

I think the gown looks much cuter on me when I have hair;)

FYI

I have my reconstruction on Friday...yippee! Check in at 7am,  surgery is 9am. Should be about 2 hours long, then once I am recovered from anesthesia I get to go home (so glad!). I appreciate your prayers!

There He Goes, Growing Up Again

He has been awaiting this day, very patiently. It's a big year for Sutton on the "little bro" scale~this year he gets PARTICIPATE, not just watch (school, soccer...). He began Rock Academy Preschool on Tuesday. When Jason and I dropped him off, Jason said to him, "Don't have too much fun!" and to that Sutton replied, "I WILL have too much fun!" and ran off to play with his new friends. Yep, he is ready. (sob-sob);)

Annual Hume Lake Labor Day Get Together

Another great Labor Day weekend at the Hume Lake Country Fair. The weather was perfect and the company too...more memories made, in a time that felt too short.
